Researchers at Stanford University have conducted a study showing that if a vegetarian diet is followed for 8 consecutive weeks, the risk of heart diseases reduces. This study has also been published in JAMA Network Open Journal. In this study, 22 pairs of twins were studied, which included children taking both vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets. The study revealed that children following a vegetarian diet had lower levels of bad cholesterol (LDL), insulin levels and obesity.
